Delete your account

You can delete your Instint account yourself, in the app, in about a minute.

Steps

1. Open Instint and go to the Settings tab.
2. Tap Sign Out, then choose Delete Account.
3. Read the confirmation and continue with Sign in with Apple. This proves it is really you.

The deletion happens straight away. You are signed out and the account cannot be recovered.

What is deleted

• Your profile: your name, your email address and your sign-in link.
• Your task assignments, your status updates and the birthdays you shared.
• Your photos and your profile picture, removed from our storage.
• The notification token of your devices.

Tasks that belong to a household that carries on stay with that household, without you on them.

If you run a household

• Another admin exists: the household keeps going and ownership passes to that admin.
• You are the only admin: the household is deleted with you, including its tasks and photos, for everyone in it. Before you delete, make another member an admin if you want the household to continue.

Backups

We keep encrypted nightly backups for disaster recovery. A deleted account disappears from them as the backups expire, which takes up to about twelve months. Backups are never used to bring a deleted account back, and they are only restored if our servers fail.

Sign in with Apple link

Deleting your Instint account does not remove the link in your Apple account. You can remove it yourself: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Sign in with Apple, choose Instint and tap Stop Using Sign in with Apple.
